MembersWhat Connects People?

I’ve been thinking recently about the different connections in my life.

Connections within me between the creative right hemisphere of the brain and the logical left hemisphere, as well as the connection between myself and my beloved, who is a partner in both my personal and professional life. This got me to thinking about what is it that successfully brings people together? As usual, the Bible held the answer. “They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt–this same Moses and Aaron” (Exodus 6:27).

The time had come to redeem Israel from slavery in Egypt, and two people were appointed to the task – Moses and Aaron. Brothers, yes, but estranged brothers who had had little contact with one another for most of their lives. And yet, they came together harmoniously to lead the Children of Israel out of bondage. Both were critical to the process, and, therefore, the connection between them was of utmost importance. They were observed almost as a single entity serving a mutual purpose, their names typically uttered in the same breath, as in the above verse.
