MembersThe Problem With Jewish Settler Bullies

Violence is everywhere, even in the Holy Land. Violent people are disruptive in any society, but what’s important is how we react

Palestinian terrorists are generally revered as martyrs by their populace. Violence is a means to an end. Certainly there are Palestinians who do not agree with terrorist attacks on Jews, and we have many such Palestinian friends around us. But they do not set the tone.

When Jewish settlers beat Palestinians and left-wing Israeli activists with sticks and stones and set a car on fire near Nablus last weekend, the violence of these bullies drew criticism from across the political spectrum. The masked Jews were upset that “strangers” were planting olive trees on a deserted hill. Among other things, an 80-year-old Jewish old woman was injured.

  1. Trevor Griffiths says:

Showing up the weakness of the right-wing case for a bi-national state seems to beg the real question. Who should be living in the land given that the writer also points out the folly of a multi-ethnic state likely to collapse in violence?
