Sirens blared across the Israel Saturday morning in a proactive early warning as Israeli Air Force warplanes began a first wave of strikes against the Iranian regime.
The preemptive operation aims to remove what officials described as imminent threats to the Jewish state, Defense Minister Israel Katz said.
Fox News reported that the United States is taking part in the strikes.
Katz warned that an Iranian missile-and-drone assault on Israeli civilians could come at any moment, and he signed an order placing the entire country under a special state of emergency.
IDF Home Front Command said people do not need to immediately enter shelters, but should remain close to safe rooms or other protected spaces. Under the updated rules, schools, public gatherings, and most workplaces are suspended, except for essential services.
