Israel’s President Isaac Herzog met on Friday morning, March 6, with the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee. At the meeting, which had been arranged in advance, the two discussed the latest developments in the war as well as the close cooperation between Israel and the United States. The conversation reflected the depth of the strategic alliance between the two countries and the close coordination between their governments and armed forces, which act in extraordinary partnership and coordination. They also discussed the further course of the war and possible next steps, emphasizing their shared commitment to stability and security in the region. The President thanked the Ambassador for America’s support of Israel and highlighted the importance of continued coordination and partnership between the two states in this complex time.

Herzog stated after the meeting:

“I had an excellent conversation with Ambassador Mike Huckabee, a dear friend. This meeting had been planned in advance. A few days ago, I called him and said that we should meet to talk about the amazing partnership and the unique force for good that lies in the cooperation between the United States and Israel – in a war whose goal is to change the future of the region and lead it toward peace. I am grateful for this partnership. I thank President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and their teams for their tireless work – day and night – together with the heroes on the front lines who are working to change the course of history. I believe that the coalition we are currently seeing emerge in the Middle East is a force for good. It is a coalition of states that strive for a better future for the children of the Middle East. And I am convinced that if we weaken the empire of evil emanating from Tehran, we can open paths to peace, goodwill, and a prosperous future for the peoples of the region.

“Thank you, Mr. Ambassador, for your steadfast support, your deep friendship, and the close and trusting cooperation between our countries. Our nation is strong and resilient. The states in our region that are also exposed to attacks from Iran show great determination and strength. Now is the time for steadfastness. This moment will be judged in history as a turning point that can bring a better future for all. That is why now is the time to show strength.”

The US Ambassador stated in turn:

“Mr. President, thank you very much – first of all for contacting me a few days ago and suggesting that we should meet and talk. President Herzog is one of the most important friends I have gained since my arrival as Ambassador here. His leadership in his office is of great importance not only to us as the government of the United States, but also on a personal level – he and his wife have become very close to my wife and me. Today we feel great gratitude toward both our governments – toward President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Israeli people, and the American people – as well as toward the armed forces of both countries, which have implemented something with extraordinary precision that, honestly, had to be done.

“Many people around the world who understand the situation know that the United States has lived under the threat of this regime for 47 years. This regime wants to destroy us – but it knows that it must first destroy Israel. That is why they have spread the same message all these years: ‘Death to Israel, Death to America.’ I am grateful to President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu for deciding: Now the moment has come to say – enough. It is not a pleasant time, but it is an important and necessary time to make it clear to this regime that it can no longer kill Americans, Israelis, and people around the world – neither directly nor through its proxies that have spread destruction worldwide.

“For all these reasons, President Herzog and I can sit here today and express our shared appreciation that our governments are working in full coordination – in intelligence, military capabilities, and political relations – at a level hardly achieved in any other relationship of the United States. For that I am grateful, Mr. President Herzog. I thank you and the people of Israel for your steadfastness and determination to finally relegate this threat to the past for the United States and for Israel.”
