Ride and Read

Unlike many cultures in the world today, Israelis still read.

Jump on any bus or train and you will find lots of people reading books, though admittedly, most are glued to their smart phones.

To help satisfy Israelis’ ferocious appetite for the paperback, train stations across the country have opened lending libraries. So while you are traveling along the beautiful coastlines, majestic landscapes and impressive cityscapes, you can pick up a good tome, read along the way, take it home, and drop it off on your next ride at any of the station libraries for the next passenger. Anyone can contribute a book. I left a Bible.
