By taking notice of nature one can learn a lot about life.
Last November I had the opportunity to visit Holland. It was cold, resembling mid-winter in Israel, but in Holland it was considered mild fall. People were dressed in long pants and long sleeves but still frequented sidewalk cafés, albeit with overhead heaters.
I walked a lot outdoors and what impacted me most were the leaves on the ground as well as the orange leaves on the trees waiting to be shed. In Israel, the change of seasons is extremely short and not at all impressive. The atmosphere in Holland was exciting, romantic, and nostalgic with earthy colors everywhere: in the trees and covering the ground and sidewalks.
