While it speaks to the strength of Israel’s economy, the massive increase in the number of cars sold in Israel in recent years doesn’t bode well for the traffic situation.

In 2016 alone, more than 288,000 cars were introduced to the roads, despite the fact that Israel imposes an 83 percent tax on all new cars, and additional fees on those classified as “luxury” vehicles.
