No one could have guessed that the drawing of a caricature by a young Arab by the name of Mahmoud Abbas living in Sweden would ignite such controversy between the Palestinians and the Saudis.
The Palestinian website Paltimes published a caricature addressing the recent dramatic fall of oil prices around the world from 80 dollars per barrel just a few years ago to a mere 16 dollars in recent days. The caricature depicts a Saudi man running away from an oil barrel that is speedily rolling after him. This image went viral on multiple social media platforms, especially Twitter.
