Israel cannot again afford to let Iran fill the vacuum in the heartland of the Jewish state.

About two weeks ago, we published on this website an analysis of Israel’s options after another major Palestinian terror attack near the Jewish village of Eli in Samaria.

The conclusion then was that the Israeli army could no longer suffice with the strategy that had been used since April 2022, a strategy that consisted mainly of nightly IDF raids on Palestinian towns and villages to arrest terrorists.

A major military operation, especially against the hotbeds of terror in the Palestinian cities of Jenin and Nablus (biblical Shechem), was by then already being demanded by an increasing number of parliamentarians and even members of the Israeli government.

 

Iran is already here

On Monday, July 2, the major military operation finally came, when the Israeli army together with the Border Police surrounded the town of Jenin in northern Samaria and began an incursion that took 10 days to prepare.

This came after a Palestinian Authority representative openly acknowledged last week that Iran had effectively taken over operations...
