Christians looking to accuse and smear the Jewish state are again making their way into the country disguised as tourists after Israel fully reopened to foreign visitors following nearly two years of Corona-related closures.
Local Israeli NGO Im Tirzu reported on the return of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) this week, signaling a post-COVID return to Christian antagonism toward the Jewish state.
EAPPI activists, known as “ecumenical monitors,” enter Israel as “innocent” tourists, which gives them three months in the country. They spend most of that time in Judea and Samaria (the so-called “West Bank”) with the mission to “witness life under occupation” and be “the first to respond to human rights violations.”
Needless to say, these Christians tend to amplify each and every libel raised against Israel by the Palestinians. What’s more, they have been caught a number of times participating in harassment of Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers, a tactic often used by Palestinian activists to elicit a violent response which can then be posted to social media (after careful editing, of course) to “expose” Israeli “crimes.”
