Conflict With Israel is Religious
Israeli and Western power brokers do their best to paint the conflict between the Jewish state and its Arab opponents as purely nationalistic. They openly reject a religious foundation to the dispute. But, in so doing, they must completely ignore what the Muslims themselves freely admit.
“Our conflict with Israel is mostly religious,” insisted Egyptian-Canadian journalist Said Shoaib in an interview with the Arab-Christian channel Al-Hayat TV.
Shoaib noted that if the conflict with Israel was purely nationalistic, then “we would be treating Iran the same way we treat Israel. Iran is occupying the Arab region of Ahwaz and oppressing the Sunnis, and it is occupying the UAE islands. Turkey is occupying the Alexandretta province. Is there one occupation that is halal and another that is haram?”
So, why is the conflict with Israel religious? “Because,” as Shoaib explained, “the Prophet Muhammad engaged in a political armed and unarmed conflict [with the Jews] 1,400 years ago, and we act as if it happened today.”
