The Friends of Zion Heritage Center this week presented its “Jerusalem Award” to singer Hanan Ben Ari, one of Israel’s most popular musical talents.
Friends of Zion, which operates a museum in central Jerusalem documenting the Christian role in Israel’s rebirth, said Ben Ari was deserving of the award for his routine volunteer work with Holocaust survivors and IDF soldiers.
At the award ceremony, Ben Ari performed from his new album in front of the dozens of Holocaust survivors and IDF soldiers in attendance.
In response to the Christians who were honoring him, Ben Ari stated: “Thank you for the award and the honor. It is very exciting to see the amazing activities taking place here, at the Friends of Zion Heritage Center and Museum. The connection between the young generation and the survivors and the way you open your heart to the people in need, enlightens the world. Keep on the good work.”
The Friends of Zion Heritage Center was founded by prominent Evangelical Christian leader Dr. Mike Evans, and has since its opening in 2015 been a focal point of Christian Zionist support for Israel.
