Desert Hike Day 2: From the Pits to the Spring

Israel Today’s Negev Extreme hike enters day two, taking in some of the biblical desert’s most stunning sights

We walked about 20 kilometers (almost 12.5 miles) on Monday, traveling from our campsite at the Remilia Pits to the area of Ein Akev, a wonderful natural spring that invited us for a swim.

After a great time of fellowship around the campfire, we all slept well in our tents, and rose bright and early the next day to continue our way along the Israel National Trail.

We set off at 6 AM this morning (Tuesday) amid a heavy fog that hid the sun and only added to the mystical atmosphere of the biblical desert.

Signing off, for now…

A well-deserved sleep after a long day’s hike.
