Like many people during the first days of the war, I was glued to my phone, whether to watch the news, talk with family and friends, or feel less lonely by connecting on social media. The community Facebook group of Nachlaot, my neighborhood in Jerusalem, was filled with emergency requests from soldiers on reserve duty seeking rides to their meetup points, residents asking where the closest public bomb shelter is, and initiatives of local restaurants acting as hubs for donations of food and equipment for soldiers.
Among the many posts was one that caught my eye: a public question for a documentary project searching for people who dreamt about the war in the days before it broke out.
The post received hundreds of comments from people sharing their war-related dreams, tagging others who have, and even sharing foreboding feelings, if not actual dreams.
These are just a handful: “I dreamt the night before that I was on my way to work, and I saw horrific sights through a window; everything was painted red, and no one knew what was happening....
