Wim Visser from the Netherlands is neither an adventurer nor an activist. He is a father, grandfather, and caretaker in a nursing home—and a five-time SAR-EL volunteer. His motivation is spiritual, his conviction deeply rooted. His view of Israel is shaped by millennia-old history and current personal experiences.
Since 2016, he has been involved with SAR-EL, the international volunteer program on Israeli military bases. Not because he wants to fight, but because he believes: in God, His promises, and responsibility.
What drives him is not pathos but quiet consistency. In this interview, Wim shares about his deployments, encounters, thoughts, daily life—and his hope to return soon.
