MembersI stood where Israelis were slaughtered

After October 7th, I was looking for an opportunity to travel to the south of Israel. Most would run away from danger during times of war, but a part of me needed to see so that I would never forget.

When a friend who brings groups down south to witness the aftermath offered a place in his rented van, I knew this was my chance. Almost thoughtlessly, I pushed away the consequences of what a day packed full of hellish scenes would do to my soul. Still, I knew that to understand truly, I needed to commit to the blisters and third-degree burns and run head-first into the fire of terror attacks and blood-stained grounds.

After all, my well-being seemed a small price to pay compared to those who lived through what I was about to see, but what I didn’t expect was how it would leave me in a desperate search for evidence of an ounce of kindness as if no human being had ever been kind before.

I had to cry when reading this.

God’s vengeance will be terrible. It is the same situation as prior to the Deluge: the Gentiles are wholly ignorant of what will soon come upon them (exempting those who have repented and are grafted into God’s people). In Noah’s day it was water, and now we’re waiting for a flood of fire, the two agents that God always uses to restore.

Afterwards we have a new earth – the olam haba will have arrived.

I am an old veteran of war, the physical scenes of war are hard to look at, it will change you no matter how much you harden yourself to it. It takes time to heal your mind from it, but the Lord offers the kind of healing you can’t get anywhere else on this planet. My wife and I are working on our 55 th year because of that kind of healing.
This war is also a spiritual war, the beginning of the end of all wars. Planet earth, ground zero, even the war in the heavens will be fought and won, here.
