After five election cycles in just three-and-a-half years, Israel finally finds itself with a decisive victorBinyamin Netanyahu. The story of this round of elections is a cosmic tragedy for about half of Israeli voters, and a triumphant victory for the other half. In retrospect, an emphatic win for Netanyahu coupled with the total collapse of the center-left bloc was a long time coming.

By the end of Thursday (November 3), 100% of the votes had been counted and the race was finished. After years of endless elections and without a stable government, the political stalemate is finally over. Netanyahu’s Likud finished with 32 seats and Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid with 24. The Netanyahu-led right-wing bloc gained a firm majority of 64 seats, leaving them with a clear path to quickly form a government within a few weeks. Lapid’s center-left bloc was shattered to pieces with merely 51 seats.
