Israeli rabbi: The Bible tells us to attack!

If Israel wants to gain the upper hand and achieve victory in the north, the Bible has clear instructions, says top rabbi.

The situation in northern Israel is fast becoming untenable. Many are in shock when they see images of the bombed-out towns and villages in Israel’s northern border region, from where nearly 100,000 people have been displaced.

It’s a war Israel is clearly not winning.

But Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Chief Rabbi of Safed and a member of the Chief Rabbinate Council, says the Bible has a simple solution to reverse the situation.

“When we take the initiative, when we go on the offensive, as we did in the Six Day War, we gain the upper hand and victory. When we wait and wait, we end up suffering,” even if Israel is ultimately saved from destruction, the rabbi explained.

He backed up this viewpoint with scripture.

When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies. (Numbers 10:9)

In other words, in any situation Israel can cry out to the Lord and be saved. But by giving the enemy opportunity, that salvation will be accompanied by much pain and suffering.

He then contrasts that with Deuteronomy 21:10, which reads:

When you go out to war against your enemies, and the Lord your God delivers them into your hand, and you take them captive…

From which the rabbi deduces that if Israel takes the initiative, in faith, God will deliver the enemy into our hands and true victory will be achieved.

In either case, God fights for Israel. But when Israel does more than just sit back, when Israel takes an active role, even a leading role in the fight, God rewards that initiative with victory.

In conclusion, Rabbi Eliyahu wants to see Israel shift course and take the war to Hezbollah in Lebanon, and in accordance with His promises, God will give victory.

  1. Disciple 1978 says:

He’s right, you know. When Israel remembers she is a prince of God. When she remembers she prevails with God and is governed by God, she succeeds. Redeemed Gentiles fall into the Israel category in that they’ve been set free by the Son and can now live lives that are governed by God. Look at the exploits of the saints since the salvation of God went forth in the earth. The darkest places have not only seen the light, they’ve been transformed by the light to such an extent that paganism was driven out of them for years. Mission work is proactive, sinners don’t come of their own accord.
God means Israel to live before him in preparation for his return. There’s been a sea change in how the nations have to relate to Israel now. Biden isn’t the Pharaoh you think he is, there is one greater than him and his servant is Israel.

  2. Patrick Fowler says:

The key is that Israel takes the initiative, in FAITH. Seek council not among other nations and leaders including Biden, but of your God!!!

  3. Susan says:

Scripturally, the Rabbi is correct. Deliverance can only come when Israel obeys Ha Shem both physically and spiritually.

  4. Vernon Ryan says:

Israel’s destiny is to rule over the nations, with the Lord, not the nations ruling over Israel.
Those corrupt governments claiming friendship with Israel for political or any dubious reason will not be in existence when Israel comes into her destiny. The left in Israel will not be in existence either, the money they take from those corrupt governments to help overthrow the Israeli government will be their downfall. The Lord will not allow them in His presence.
