The transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem continues to excite Israelis.

In fact, the owners of Jerusalem’s professional football (soccer) club, Beitar Jerusalem, were so excited they wanted to memorialize the man who made it happen, US President Donald Trump, by officially changing the team’s name. Henceforth, the team is now known as “Beitar Trump Jerusalem.”

The gimmick didn’t go over well with fans. After the team suffered a championship game loss to Haifa, one fan wondered: “After such a lousy performance, does the management have nothing better to do but change the name of the club? If Trump had seen the game, he’d be ashamed to be associated with this team.”

Another fan wrote: “Are you crazy?! The name of the team...
