When four Israeli hostages, who were held for eight months in Gaza, were rescued in a daring and dangerous mission, the whole of Israel celebrated. Stories of starvation, beatings, sub-human conditions, abuse, psychological torture, and the resilience of the hostages slowly leaked as they confirmed Israel’s worst fear – they had gone through hell.
Almog Meir Jan (21) claimed his captures made him a birthday cake to taunt and mock him, as they were planning on filming him and publishing it as a propaganda video as they did with other hostages.
American supermodel Bella Hadid (27), of Dutch-Palestinian descent, broke the internet with an outlandish Instagram story, sharing a circulating image of the smiling Almog with his mother, along with the caption:
“Released Israeli Captive revealed that Hamas made him a birthday cake during captivity”
