Only Around 1,000 Israelis Left in Ukraine

Most of the 13,000 Israelis in Ukraine when the war began managed to get out of the country, according to a recent Foreign Ministry report

The Israeli Foreign Ministry reports that of the approximately 13,000 Israeli citizens in Ukraine in early February, fewer than 1,500 are now in the war-torn country. Of course, efforts continue to help these Israelis leave Ukraine, especially those areas now occupied by Russian forces.

Half of these remaining Israelis are trapped in active war zones, or have voluntarily remained in place, probably to care for the elderly and bereaved who are unable to escape. Others don’t have valid travel documents.

Israelis in Ukraine can register on a website where they will be informed about the current situation and the best ways to escape.
