Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese terrorist movement that effectively controls the country, operates a number of media outlets.
When one of those outlets, the Al-Jadid news channel, published a map of the Holy Land with the name “Israel” over it, local Arabic-language social media erupted.
Hezbollah insists that the entire Land of Israel is “Palestine,” and that the “Zionist entity” must be defeated and removed.
In line with that ideology, maps published by Hezbollah usually identify the Holy Land as “Palestine.”
That the name “Israel” instead appeared in a weekend broadcast was, in the words of one viewer, a “brazen embarrassment.”
A Hezbollah-affiliated journalist later tweeted: “Palestine was lost and Israel appeared.”
