Restaurants, playgrounds and other public spaces across the city have been labeled as “mobile-free” zones. At many of these locations, visitors find special storage containers inviting them to leave their smartphones behind, just for a while. Teenage volunteers can also be found distributing candies to any passerby who is not staring at his or her phone.
