Andrew White is a legend, a man with charm and energy. On British TV they have even called him a rock star. He has suffered a lot for the Christian faith, but this has not held him back from his worldwide ministry of reconciliation. White is a bridge between Jews and Christians and also between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. This clergyman was raised in London, moved from a Pentecostal congregation to the Anglican Church, and has been ministering since 1997 in Arab countries in the Middle East.
As the “Vicar of Baghdad,” he served at St. George’s Church, the only Anglican house of worship in Iraq. There, he and his team helped provide Arab Christians and Muslims with food, medicine and education. In 2014, he was forced to flee. Prior to this, together with Canadian Jew Steve Maman, he ransomed 128 Christian and Yezidi girls from a brutal imprisonment by ISIS jihadists.
