Israel’s “Day of Remembrance for the Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism” began this year as it always does with a one-minute siren sounding at 8 p.m. local time; and another siren at 11 a.m. the following day. We stood at attention in their honor, remembered their sacrifice and read psalms. The Israeli flag was flown at half mast.
Memorial Day leads immediately into Independence Day. This is meant to remind us of the price paid for our freedom. May the memory of the fallen be blessed!
