We have received many inquiries from abroad about how to support the soldiers at the front. So we decided to set up a donation program to provide straightforward and direct support to selected army units in this time of need.

At the same time, we were approached from various quarters in the country about whether we would be willing to provide bulletproof vests and other protective equipment for Israel’s reservists in the field. We were surprised when army spokesman Daniel Hagari reassured us on television that the IDF had all it needed. The media reports that the opposite is the case.

In fact, there is a lack of important equipment everywhere. And this is entirely understandable! The war of aggression against Israel came as such a surprise that the country was not prepared for it. More than 400,000 soldiers and reservists are currently being mobilized, a mammoth task. It is unavoidable that there will be supply bottlenecks and other problems, as in many places the infrastructure, such as field kitchens, is simply not yet in place.

For example, the son of Israel Today contributor Avshalom Kapach has been called up. When he arrived to his unit in the south, there were uniforms, but a lack of food. His son quickly posted a request in a Facebook group and within two hours volunteers arrived, bringing a total of 150 meals.

There is great solidarity at a time like, a feeling of community that is indescribable. Just this morning, Anat received a call for help from the south from a unit that was missing 100 meals. We quickly decided to help and donate. In Israel, this is easy to do from your mobile phone using dedicated apps. Donations from abroad, on the other hand, must first be redirected to Israeli accounts. So we want to help you help Israel! Are you willing?

This is how we do it: we will forward your donations to specific units with which we have personal contact. To where our sons and the sons of our employees and friends serve and which have turned to us for help. In particular we are talking about a command division, the elite Yahalom unit, and two others. In this way we can ensure that your donations get to where they need to go.

As soon as the first donations are received, we will immediately inform you online which things we were able to buy and in what quantities. It is important to us to do everything transparently and cleanly. Please understand that we have to remain flexible and decide spontaneously where your donations go and what they are used for. We want to give exactly where it is needed immediately and urgently. This could be meals, for example, but also equipment that could not yet be delivered in many places.

We did this 15 years ago. With your help, we were able to provide pizzas and cola to countless Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip and thus boost their morale. Unfortunately, this is no longer technically possible today. In addition, today the needs are not only different, but also greater. Israel is facing a war campaign on an unprecedented scale.

King Solomon once said: “There is a time for everything. There is a time for war and a time for peace.”
Now there is war in Israel.

And this war is for our very homes.
