With the return to normalcy, the situation in Judea and Samaria seems to be heating up again. After a knife attack by an Arab woman was thwarted by Israeli soldiers yesterday morning, a shooting attack occurred in the late afternoon at the Tapuach Junction in Gush Etzion, in which three young yeshiva students were injured, some very seriously.

The attack occurred at a bus stop when terrorists opened fire from a passing car at a group of people waiting for a ride. Israeli soldiers stationed nearby immediately opened fire on the terrorists, who nevertheless managed to escape.

The army increased its forces in Judea and Samaria today to track down the terrorists.

Three young people were injured in the attack, two of them seriously. The slightly injured adolescent has already been discharged from the hospital. According to reports, one of the seriously injured, a 19-year-old yeshiva student from Jerusalem, is still in critical condition.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz tweeted after the incident: “I wish the wounded in the shooting attack at Tapuach Junction a full recovery and pray for their safety. The IDF and the security forces will not give up until they get their hands on the terrorists who carried out the attack.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote: “I send my blessings to the wounded in the brutal shooting attack at the Tapuach Junction. The security forces are looking for the terrorists and I am sure that they will catch the perpetrators as soon as possible.”
