Many people have many ways of defining post modernism. For me, in the context of my religious or theological worldview the connotation is that we are all freethinking individuals, unhinged from authoritarian and traditional institutions, including religious ones, and able to think as individuals.
The outcome should be that in this age we do not need to follow the group, but can think for ourselves. And not only that, but we are also passionate to seek truth again, despite the challenges of too much information or reasonable arguments for seemingly conflicting truths, even if it means accepting a perceived limitation to accept partial truths.
It may seem bizarre to use Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900), the great existential philosopher of the 19th century in Germany, who was extremely critical of religion as an inspiration for passion, but alas, there was a significant movement of Russian intellectuals who hatched a trend of spiritual interest and a creative wave of writers and thinkers who were impacted by Nietzsche to a renewed religious fervor, and they were called the G-d seekers.
