The Arab media follows domestic political developments in Israel very closely. “With friends like these, who needs enemies?” left- and right-wing Israelis say of one another. In the midst of such a fierce internal feud, we are making things easy on our enemies. We do the work for them and signal just how divided we are. This was really highlighted when IDF officers and soldiers threatened to refuse to do military service, even in the event of an emergency. What a dream for those who hate Israel.
The whole country seems to be on edge like never before since the latest change of government and amidst the ongoing dispute over judicial reform. Everyone is warning that the worst could happen, and our Arab enemies know how to exploit this apprehension. They don’t even need to invent narratives. Arab media is quoting word-for-word what Israeli politicians and military figures are saying in their dire assessments of the situation. At present, things look very encouraging for Israel’s most dedicated foes. The impression given to them by the Israeli media is that the IDF is on the verge of mutiny or collapse. Every evening reports of fighter pilots or officers from the cyber intelligence Unit 8200 and other special forces threatening to refuse orders. Former chiefs of staff and other high-ranking generals directly or indirectly calling for insubordination.
A few examples of how the Arab and Iranian media are happily reporting on the situation in Israel:
You buy stocks when they’re cheap and you attack the enemy when they’re weak. That is why Israel must be doubly vigilant at this time. In the meantime, I want to believe that all the bluster of refusing orders notwithstanding, in the event of a war Israelis will put aside their differences and fight shoulder-to-shoulder. If not, we are doomed to repeat the darker chapters of Jewish history when chaos and internal strife defeated us from within.
The whole situation seems to be caused by an inability to communicate !
All need to learn how to simply and effectively describe their position, and also to listen to those who have a different view. The apparent biggest factors deepening this problem appears to be entrenched stances on false ideas on how different decisions will affect Israel.
The media excels in exaggerations and fear-mongering !
As someone who is only observing from the outside, I do wonder if God is using this present government to shake up the establishment and bring Israel more in line with the Biblical prophecies which include:
1. The Land belongs to God, who gives it to the Jews; this land will be restored to them. Only as (of after) that happens, Israel’s heart is brought closer to God’s heart.
2. Judicial reform which gives the government more ability to enact policies that which are not always overturned by an unelected Supreme court. Especially as it pertains to Judea and Samaria.
If this is so, I would expect there to be a massive spiritual battle as The Adversary does not want God’s plan and promises to be fulfilled.
It is always a spiritual battle with Israel because God’s plan WILL be brought to fruition. Submitting to Torah has always been a battle. I think people need to realize that they are really fighting for and against the God of Israel and His Will.
The bastions of doubt, cynicism, and hatred for Israel’s God, and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, are about to crumble. God is going to do a glorious work of revival where Jewish people will cry out to Him in worship of Jesus Christ, and Satan’s legions of doubt and fear will be destroyed.
God loves the entirety of the Middle East and He is about to work in a wonderful way that will be a witness to our entire world of His love, His forgiveness, and His powerful presence.
I, for one, am standing in faith, holding back the power of “the thief, Satan”, who comes “to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”; and I am holding high the name of Jesus, who says “[but] I have come that they may have life..” (John 10:10)
