“Never in my life would I have thought that I would experience the Holocaust again,” Tzili Wenkert (82) told us. Her grandson Omer Wenkert was kidnapped to the Gaza Strip by Hamas terrorists on Black Shabbat,and Omer’s girlfriend was brutally murdered. Since then, Grandma Tzili has been advocating for her grandson. Anat Schneider had the opportunity to talk to her.
Tzili is a beautiful lady, you can tell that she is courageous and optimistic. The name Tzili refers to the pleasant and gentle sound that comes from the bearer of the name. With great love and endless blessings, but almost overwhelmed by pain, she speaks of her kidnapped grandson: “Omer must be released. He suffers from chronic colitis and needs his medication every day. What will happen to him if he no longer takes his daily medication? Where is my Omer now? He is twenty-two, my eldest grandson, a cheerful, polite, good boy. Always friendly to everyone.”
