The head of the Israel Defense Forces, Gen. Eyal Zamir, visited Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip and delivered a clear message to Hamas. During the visit, he emphasized that the army would continue to act resolutely against the terrorist organization—even beyond the immediate Gaza area.
Hamas will also be hit in other arenas
Zamir told the soldiers that the IDF “will also engage Hamas terrorists in other arenas.” The army will act wherever it is necessary. The visit took place as part of an on-site situational assessment, during which Zamir inspected the troops’ operational readiness.
He also stressed that the IDF would continue its mission to ensure the security of Israeli citizens. The Chief of Staff expressed appreciation to the soldiers for their performance and underscored the importance of continued vigilance.
Violations of the ceasefire
Meanwhile, on Saturday the IDF reported that Israeli troops in the northern Gaza Strip had killed a terrorist who crossed the so-called “Yellow Line,” thereby violating the terms of the ceasefire. The Palestinian had approached the forces “in a manner that constituted an immediate threat,” the army explained.
