In an Iranian missile attack on a residential block in Tel Aviv, an Israeli woman was killed overnight into Sunday. According to the national emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA), at least 21 people were injured in the impact.

The approximately 40-year-old woman was initially treated by paramedics at the scene of the strike. Shortly after midnight, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Another man was admitted to Ichilov Hospital with severe shrapnel injuries. A man in his 30s and a woman around 90-years-old are in moderate condition. Another 17 people—including seven children—suffered minor injuries.

Two residential buildings were severely damaged by the missile strike. Rescue teams searched for hours for any additional people possibly trapped under the rubble. The Home Front Command deployed its National Search and Rescue Unit, which, according to the IDF, freed three civilians from an impact site in central Israel. Soldiers and rescue teams carried out extensive recovery and securing operations.

The IDF stated that it is working in close coordination with all emergency and rescue services and once again called on the population to strictly follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.

Major General Shay Kleper, Commander of the Home Front Command, spoke at the scene of a “tragic incident” in which a civilian was killed by an Iranian missile. The emergency services had acted quickly to rescue those trapped. The operations were continuing. “Complex days lie ahead,” he said with regard to the ongoing security situation.

The aid organization United Hatzalah was also on site with numerous volunteers, doctors, and paramedics. According to the organization, the missile caused massive structural damage, destroyed apartments, and left dozens of people temporarily homeless. Teams treated the injured, assisted residents through damaged stairwells, and supported evacuations from buildings at risk of collapse. Among those rescued was an elderly man reliant on a wheelchair who was brought to safety from the damaged building.

United Hatzalah’s drone unit deployed unmanned aerial vehicles to locate injured people under debris and identify hazardous areas. At the same time, the Psychotrauma and Crisis Intervention Unit provided initial psychological first aid to residents in shock or showing anxiety reactions.

Paramedic Yaron Shiff, one of the first responders on site, reported that they immediately began treating the injured upon arrival and simultaneously searched surrounding buildings for any further possible victims. Most injuries were minor; several people with more serious injuries were taken to nearby hospitals.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Iranian authorities have launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israeli territory, according to Israeli sources. In connection with the attack on the residential block in Tel Aviv, air-raid sirens sounded multiple times nationwide. Another missile barrage from Iran occurred around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to official reports, several people were slightly injured while hurriedly seeking shelter. In addition, some individuals required medical treatment due to shock.
