New poll shows a plurality of Americans again view Israel negatively, following a surge in support after the Oct. 7 attacks.
Thirty-nine percent of registered American voters told the NBC News survey that they hold an unfavorable opinion of Israel, compared with 32% who view it positively. In November 2023, shortly after the Hamas assault, 47% expressed positive views and 24% negative ones.
The pollster behind the survey concluded that “Israel may have had major military success in its war against Hamas, but its actions have badly damaged its standing among the American people.”
That remark is very telling, both of the world’s attitude toward Israel and Israel’s shift following the events of that black Shabbat.
