A man was killed in Tel Aviv and at least 13 others were injured near Beit Shemesh as Iran launched additional missile attacks on Israel over the weekend, according to Israeli media and emergency responders.
The fatality was identified as 52-year-old Vyacheslav Vidmant of Ashdod. Reports said he had been assigned by the Tel Aviv Municipality to guard residential buildings that had already been evacuated after a previous deadly missile strike in the area.
According to Ynet, Vidmant finished his shift at 10 p.m. Friday but stayed nearby. Shortly before midnight, air-raid sirens sounded, but he did not enter a protected space. A submunition from a cluster warhead reportedly struck the street, and shrapnel fatally wounded him.
The strike was said to be the sixth missile barrage launched toward Israel that day.
The same area had already seen casualties earlier in the conflict. On February 28, Mary Anne Velasquez de Vera, a 32-year-old Filipino caregiver, was fatally wounded by an Iranian missile while helping the person in her care reach safety. She died while being transported to the hospital.
In a separate strike on March 28, a ballistic missile penetrated Israel’s air defenses and hit a community near Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem. Thirteen people were reported wounded, and property sustained extensive damage.
Elad Kadmon, a senior paramedic with Magen David Adom, said rescue teams arrived to find heavy destruction, though those walking at the scene were conscious. He said medics were treating people with light injuries and searching for any additional casualties. Several others were also reported to be suffering from shock.
The injured were taken to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah medical centers in Jerusalem. Images from the scene showed serious damage to homes and vehicles.

Home Front Command rescue teams were deployed to the area and urged the public to follow safety instructions and move immediately to protected spaces when sirens sound.
Separately, warning sirens were activated across northern Israel on Saturday afternoon following the suspected infiltration of hostile drones. Two unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted after a pursuit lasting about 13 minutes, and no injuries were reported. The drones were believed to have been launched from Lebanon by Hezbollah.
The developments came as fighting continued following the opening of the war on February 28, when Israel, together with the United States, carried out a preemptive strike on Iran. Since then, Hezbollah has joined the confrontation, and Israeli forces have expanded operations into southern Lebanon.
