The other day, I was standing in the shower. The water was running, the shampoo was in my hair—a completely ordinary everyday moment. As so often, my phone was lying somewhere in the living room. After all, when you shower, you generally want some peace and quiet.
Suddenly, there was loud knocking on the bathroom door. “Dad, Dad!” my son shouted. “There are early warnings! Hurry up!”
Of course, in that moment I knew exactly what that meant. The Home Front Command app had sent an early warning. Missiles from Iran were already on the way and would arrive within a few minutes.
So I probably took one of the fastest showers of my life. Rinse out the shampoo, turn off the water, grab the towel. As I dried myself off, I was thinking of only one thing: getting to the shelter room in time.
I barely made it.
Since that day, my phone always comes with me into the bathroom. Because in Israel, even showering has by now become part of the daily strategic plan. What our daily...
