We live in a time when everyone sees everything and yet everyone sees something different. The same images from Gaza, the same demonstrations in Tel Aviv, the same events in Judea and Samaria, the same political decisions in Jerusalem – and yet they give rise to completely different realities. For one person, a soldier is a defender; for another, an occupier. For one person, a demonstration is an expression of vibrant democracy; for another, a threat to the state. For one person, a military operation is necessary; for another, disproportionate. We have long since stopped arguing merely about what should happen, but about what we see at all.

This is perhaps one of the greatest social problems of our time. We possess more images, news and information than any generation before us, but not necessarily a clearer view. Algorithms show us what aligns with our convictions. Politics shows us the images that confirm its message. Media outlets select excerpts from a much larger reality.
