(JNS) Security, economy and societal issues are the key topics preoccupying Israeli voters. What this means specifically depends on whom one asks as “security” means different things to different Israelis. Observers told JNS that the specific issues include Iran and the current war, haredi enlistment, and the economy.
“For probably the last 60 years or so, the top issue defining right and left in Israel is security, especially during the past three years with a lot of conflicts still open and active,” Liron Lavi, assistant professor at the department of political studies at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, told JNS.

The left, in this country, play things down to make it look like they have things under control. Then, if they win, it is back to the same thing they are always after, taking away rights, funding their bank accounts and grabbing more power for themselves. In the end, the country is worse off than it was before the elections.
Human nature? greed? ignorance on the part of the voters? Our enemies are always looking for that little advantage given by the powers that be through the policy they shove at the nation under new management. Then the blame game starts, common sense ends where money and power begins. There is only one real power left in the world, and everyone seems to forget who has it until it is too late. Yeshua said we would live in perilous times, indeed we do. Matthew 23 describes it very well. We must make good choices while we have the right to do so.
