The movie follows their lives as they cope with a secular metropolis far away from the ever-present scrutiny of their conservative Arab society. The women must perform a balancing act between tradition and modernity, nationality and culture, as they test the borders of their new-found freedom.
The cast is made up of Leila, an attorney from Nazareth; the strictly religious Muslim Naour who studies computer science; and Salma who comes from a small Christian village and works in a bar. All three spend time with both Arab and Jewish friends.
