Mongolia is a stunning landscape. But beyond its beauty, the place and people taught me several lessons

It is when we are far outside our comfort zones that we often gain new insights to life. It is there that you get to know yourself better, including your connection to your country and people. I love adventure, visiting new countries and getting to know different people. 

But most of all, I love it when my wife is with me. This past summer, we spent almost five weeks in the Far East, most of that time in Mongolia. It was there that we met up with our son, Moran, who had spent the previous eight months traveling the region by motorcycle following his army service. 

The Mongols are a pleasant people. It is likely that they are the last true nomads on earth. We know them only through stories told as children, conjuring up fears of the mighty Genghis Khan.
