Like no other nation
Israel is different than any other nation in the world. When we think about celebrating Israel’s independence, we can’t just look back 72 years to 1948, for Israel began a long time ago. Our nation was not the idea of Theodore Herzl or David Ben-Gurion, for the real father of the nation of Israel is Abraham. And yet, Israel as a nation goes back even further. For Abraham himself was chosen and received a promise to establish a nation that came from the God of Israel who chose him.
