Take for instance the small Jewish community living in the biblical city of Hebron, and the various foreign and local organizations that routinely harass it and the Israeli soldiers deployed to protect it.
The government in Jerusalem has taken a firm stance against local Israeli antagonists like B’Tselem and Breaking the Silence, organizations that exist to besmirch the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and condemn the presence of any Jews in Judea and Samaria (the so-called “West Bank”). At the same time, international outfits like TIPH, the Temporary International Presence in Hebron, whose members often engage in very similar activity, is seemingly granted impunity, even though it would require far less effort for the government to curb them.
Member of Knesset Moti Yogev (Jewish Home), for one, doesn’t approve of the situation, and wants Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to send the group of “peacekeepers” packing. While it operates somewhat under the auspices of the United Nations, TIPH does not have an official mandate from the world body. It was established via a bilateral agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority....
