The 63-year-old was recognized in London for his novel A Horse Walks into a Bar. “Every sentence in his book counts, every word is important in this outstanding example of the skill of this author,” the leader of the five-man jury, Nick Barley, emphasized. The Man Booker Prize is the leading literature prize in Great Britain, and was first presented in 1969. Since 2005, there has been a second category, the Man Booker International Prize. Every two years, foreign works of literature that have been translated into English are also recognized.
