You know things have gotten weird when the United Nations is actually praising the Jewish state

You know the world’s been turned upside down or that we’ve entered some bizarre alternate reality when the United Nations is praising cooperation between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

“Israelis and Palestinians are a prime example of cooperation in the fight against Corona,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres during a Wednesday night briefing on the global pandemic.

The UN is usually highly critical of Israel, even to the extent of ignoring other crises around the world, and routinely suggests that the Jewish state has no care whatsoever for the Palestinian Arabs.

Obviously, that’s not true, or Israel wouldn’t be bothering with helping the Palestinian Authority at all during this challenging time, when the Jewish state is in dire need of all its resources.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has been working closely with Palestinian medical services to help contain the spread of the coronavirus both among Jewish settlers and the Arab population in Judea and Samaria.

On Wednesday, COGAT delivered 3,000 coronavirus test kits and 50,000 protective masks that had been donated by the World Health Organization to the Palestinian Authority.

While few details were provided, it was revealed earlier this week that Israel and the Palestinians had set up a joint operations room to coordinate efforts against the COVID-19 outbreak.

A survey conducted by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion last week found that 68 percent of Palestinian Arabs support cooperation between Israel and their own regime at this time. Such polls typically find that a similar number of Palestinians support violence against Israel.
