
This is where the Intifada (Uprising) of the Knives, hatred and a thirst for blood and revenge prevail.
But here and there, voices of reason prevail. One example is the Israeli organization “Kids Creating Peace” (www.kcpeace.org) which brings Jewish and Arab children together to create art against hate. At the helm of the organization is Shani Peretz, the daughter of Knesset (parliament) member Amir Peretz of the dovish Labor Party.
Some 250 kids aged 14 to 18, Israelis and Palestinians from all over the country, work together for tolerance and mutual understanding and to combat the hate-filled dialogue on Facebook and Twitter. At their first meeting in Jerusalem this spring, the children discussed ways to break down barriers.
