“The barbarism of the Islamic Republic against innocent civilians—especially toward the Israeli people—has crossed every human and moral boundary. For years, the Iranian regime has spread hatred and death in the name of religion. But it is important to know: the Iranian people themselves are not party to these crimes.”

Standing in Jerusalem, these were the words of Matia Khadir, a former undercover agent in Iran’s intelligence services, delivered not as a slogan but as a personal declaration—by someone who escaped the regime and came to Israel to see the truth with his own eyes.

Khadir is one of ten Iranian exiles—journalists, activists, and influencers with a combined social media following of over two million—who visited Israel in recent days as part of the “Cyrus Delegation.” Led by the organization Sharaka, which works to build bridges between Israel and the Muslim world, the group came to know Israel firsthand, to counter Tehran’s propaganda, and to extend a hand to a people they were taught to hate from afar.
