
Conversion from Islam to Christianity has been a growing phenomenon ever since the Arab Spring, and especially during the great wave of migration from the Middle East to Europe in 2015. Is it all circumstantial, or is there something more to what’s happening than merely seeking asylum?
According to experts on the matter, conversion to Christianity does not guarantee the right to asylum in Germany or any other European country. Even so, rumors quickly spread that if those looking to find shelter in the “Christian” West would first publicly accept Christianity, their changes could be greatly improved.
To shed some light on what’s happening, and in particular the nature of these conversions, Israel Today contacted Reinhold Strähler, a professor of theology and a Christian missionary in Germany, to talk about the phenomenon known as “Muslim Background Believers.”
