
The Jerusalem Institute of Justice (JIJ), a human rights organization addressing abuses both in Israel and the Palestinian Authority, has filed suit with the International Criminal Court in The Hague against Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for committing serious crimes against his own people over the past four years. According to the complaint, Abbas’ security forces routinely torture political prisoners, 17 of whom have died in custody during the timeframe in question.
