A new archaeological garden, the largest in Israel, has been installed on the pathway which leads up to the General Staff Headquarters of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Tel Aviv. An impressive collection of artifacts uncovered from sites in biblical Israel, including a stone that weighs six tons from the Western Wall in Jerusalem, are on display.
“The Israel Antiquities Authority seeks to expose soldiers—our future generation—to their past,” said IAA director Israel Hasson at the inauguration ceremony. “The exhibition, which we organized in the epicenter of the army, brings a reminder that spans thousands of years of history to the daily life of tens of thousands of soldiers and visitors.”
