Israel is a wonder to behold as a modern reborn nation. What it has achieved in just 75 years far surpasses anything that those involved in the early stages of the Jewish state’s restoration could have imagined.
It is right to recognize these success and achievements, but not necessarily because of what they say about Israel or the Jewish people.
The earliest recorded description we have of Israel as a nation of people is that of being stubborn or stiff-necked. Today we might say obstinate. After living here for more than half my life, I can report that the nation of Israel continues to be characterized by obstinance. In some ways this has helped her endure millennia of hateful persecution. But when God applied that label while looking down from the summit of Mt. Sinai, it wasn’t a compliment.
The trouble with obstinance is that while it can enable you to stand firm in the face of enemies bent on your destruction, it can also result in inflexible and...

It’s Israel’s feasts that will stand the test of time not man’s feasts that are so dependent on the political will of the rulers.
It’s Israel’s Tabernacle of God that will stand the test of time not the man-made structures of the religions.
It’s Israel’s structure for society, such as marriage and the family, that will stand the test of time not the liberal “do as you please” experiments of modern man.
It’s Israel’s army of the tribes under a godly, priestly king that provides the best defence, not the professional military structures men make. What shall we add to this list?
Amen! Israel is miraculously independently DEPENDENT on God!!
I appreciate all those who pray for Israel that those of us who post will have clarity in ministering to the needs the various articles address. God bless you.
To Israel were committed the oracles of God. (1 Kings 6:19; Rom 3:2) When the Gentiles received them through Christianity they exported them to the world through missionary efforts. Gentile nations then came into the blessings of God, and even became great empires. Britain sent missionaries like Livingstone, Carey and Taylor throughout its Commonwealth and the world. Now, they have abandoned the biblical directions they learned from Israel for something more Babylonian. America, although founded by Puritan Pilgrim Fathers now prefer something more liberal and progressive. God’s divine directions for mankind with regards to feasts, worship, society, defence, agriculture, law and times continue to bless those peoples who follow them. As they follow them they give God the glory for them. Israel should stand fast in these ways and should not allow the Babylonians to persuade them otherwise.
Thank you Ryan! Encouraging commentary on 75 years of God’s goodness and faithfulness, during Israel’s present form of existence, and reminders of the past.
And Yes, Give God the glory!!
