In a forceful statement released Friday, the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem rejected the latest report issued by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) accusing Israel of orchestrating famine in Gaza, calling the allegations “an outright lie” and “a modern blood libel.”
“The only ones being intentionally starved in Gaza,” the statement read, “are the Israeli hostages.”
Citing a humanitarian effort unmatched in wartime history, Israel says it has facilitated the entry of more than two million tons of aid—over one ton per person in Gaza—since October 7, 2023. According to official Defense Ministry figures, over 101,000 aid trucks have entered Gaza during the war, with a visible impact: food prices have plummeted in recent weeks, a fact the IPC report conspicuously ignored.
Hamas looting exposed
The statement also referenced data from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in July showing that out of 1,012 aid trucks, only 10 successfully reached designated warehouses. “The rest,” it noted, “were looted before distribution”—a pattern of theft that Israeli officials say is engineered by Hamas to sustain its war machine.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a private initiative backed by Israeli logistics and American contractors, has distributed 132 million meals through 2.2 million relief packages. Additionally, 86 NGO-run kitchens, supported by Israeli facilitation, prepare 400,000+ hot meals daily for civilians across Gaza.
At Kerem Shalom Crossing, journalists recently observed “hundreds of pallets of food left untouched” due to what Israel described as the UN’s refusal to distribute the aid.
No precedent in war
“Israel has gone to unprecedented lengths to feed civilians in enemy territory,” the statement said, quoting John Spencer, Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at West Point. “No other country at war has done the same.”
Israel has also launched coordinated airdrops, maritime deliveries, and established safe corridors for aid delivery—measures the IPC report fails to account for.
Weaponized narratives
“This is not analysis. It is propaganda wrapped in the language of human rights,” the PMO warned. “Photos of children with congenital diseases like cerebral palsy have been falsely used to indict Israel for starvation.”

The government accused the IPC of spreading lies “fueled by prejudice” and demanded the international community confront two truths: the unconditional release of Israeli hostages and the reality of Hamas exploitation of aid.
“Israel will continue to act responsibly,” the statement concluded, “ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches civilians while destroying Hamas’s terror infrastructure.”
